Richard The Lionheart Sword
Richard I was king of England from 1189-99. He was the third of five sons of King Henry II of England and Duchess Eleanor of Aquitaine. He was known as Richard Cœur de Lion or Richard the Lionheart because of his reputation as a great military leader and warrior. Richard was a central Christian commander during the Third Crusade and scored considerable victories against his Muslim counterpart, Saladin, although he failed to re-take Jerusalem. He remains one of the few kings of England who is remembered by his epithet, rather than regnal number, and is an enduring iconic figure both in England and in France.
Our Richard the Lionheart Sword is manufactured in the world famous Art Gladius factory in Toledo, Spain. Its ornate hilt is adorned with heraldic lions, fleur du Lys and battle scenes and is topped with a dragon surmounting the pommel.
