Bishops Mantle range
The chainmail standard otherwise known as a bishops mantle, pixane or chainmail collar, is designed to protect the throat, upper breast and upper back areas. It was in use from the 14th to the 16th century. The chainmail standard can come attached to a leather collar fastened with buckled leather straps, or it can come as a shaped chainmail on its own.
