Our El Cid shield magnet honors the Castilian knight Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar. The Castilian knight Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar, known as "El Cid Campeador" in the 11th century, was the prototype of the knight and loyal vassal who took part with his king Alphonse VI in the conquest of Toledo. Subsequently, he conquered the city, and kingdom of Valencia from the Arabians.
Our El Cid shield magnet is a product of the world-famous Art Gladius factory in the historic sword manufacturing city of Toledo, Spain. The magnet is made from stainless steel and has a small magnet stuck to the reverse of the shield.
