Brass Castilla Breastplate - 18 Gauge
This handcrafted steel and brass Castilla & Leon Breastplate by Marto of Toledo is a one-piece solid construction of armour that covers the entire front of the torso.
This type of breastplate was typical of the Spanish armoury in the 16th century and was mainly worn by foot soldiers.
This steel armour is enhanced by riveted brass plates surrounding an oval relief emblem in the center of the breastplate. The relief emblem is that of the coat-of-arms for the Castilla & Leon region of Spain and is accompanied by two fleur de lis, one on either side.
