'San Mauricio' Brigandine - Suede Leather

This brigandine is based the sculpture of St. Maurice that can be found in the Magdeburgo Cathedral, dated between 1250 and 1300. Although the legendary martyr was a Theban major from the 3th century A.D. he appears represented with weapons from the 13th century. Over the lorica he wears one of the first brigandines, clearly suggested by the represented rivets that hold the inner plates.
Our 'San Mauricio' Brigandine is a defensive item that combines mobility and extra protection thanks to its metal plates superimposed over a flexible frame made out of leather. This item is popular with reenactors and is great for re-enactment.
Made of the highest quality 2.5mm leather and 18 gauge steel. Leather and steel thickness and colour shade may vary from item to item due to handcrafted manufacturing and the use of traditional inks.
It may have small marks on its surface, imperfections or won´t be 100% homogeneous. Roughness and colour may vary from piece to piece. The dying process is performed using traditional techniques so final colour may vary depending on leather´s original tone.
