US Navy Cutlass M1860 - Gold

Since 1860, the US Navy Cutlass M1860 Gold has been produced for the American armed forces at sea – just in time for the American Civil War! It replaces model M1841, and was inspired by the French Navy saber. The curved blade typical of sabers has a wide fuller that ends at the same place the broad back does – the spot where the false edge starts. Its blade geometry gives the US Navy Cutlass M1860 Gold a relatively light weight, but it was also made to be slightly top-heavy to give cuts more power. Held in place by a riveted pommel and the 24 K gold-plated full knuckle bow at the hand guard, the wooden grip of this naval cutlass is covered in leather and wrapped with twisted, golden wire. The US Navy Cutlass M1860 Gold comes with a matching leather scabbard with belt loop and a cloth bag for transport and storage.
