Spartan Lakonia Short Sword
The Spartans developed a short sword that is extraordinarily effective in close combat. The leaf-shaped, double-edged blade has an acute point and is well balanced due to the combination of the short, downward curving crossguard and bronze grip. Our Spartan short sword dates from around 500 BC and includes a leather-covered scabbard made of wood. The metal band has rings so you can attach the sword and scabbard to a belt. This Spartan sword is based on the one illustrated in "The Spartan Army," a book by Nicholas Sekunda with illustrations by Richard Hook.
