Sgian Dubh (Round Handle)
The Sgian Dubh evolved from a larger Scottish dagger that was normally concealed under the armpit. It was common practice when visiting friends to remove this dagger from its hiding place and insert it in the top of your sock so that is could be seen at all times. Sgian Dubh translates as “Black Knife” in the old Gaelic language.
