Fingerless mittens or gauntlets like these are common to see in different representations along the golden age of armour between 1400 and 1500. This particular model is based on the ones that can be found at the excellent Milanese armour known among experts as ´Avant´Armour because of the inscription repeated on its skirt. Used by cavalry and infantry alike, artistic representations show that they were especially used by those who normally wielded polearms.
Made in 1.6mm steel. Thickness may vary due to the handcrafted methods used in its manufacture. The steel is untreated and may have rust. To protect the steel you may rub it with mineral or synthetic oil.
