Jack Chains were an important part of the protective equipment of the medieval foot soldier who, typically, was not dressed in plate armour but wore a padded arming jacket (jack) to protect his upper body.
These 14 Gauge, fully articulated Jack Chains tied or sewn to the arms to provide protection from slashing cuts. Modern studies have indicated that these chains prevented up to 80% of potential arm injuries. Jack Chains are an important accessory for our AB0158, AB0159 and AB0160 Arming Jackets.
